3 Technologies That Will Change Your Life in 2019
Happy 2019! We believe that this is going to be a great year in the tech field! Every year, a lot of updates and improvements are done and, the changes have been really fast in the last years that we almost can’t keep up! Although, we give our best to bring you the most powerful tech which we believe will change your life and the way you live in 2019.
Check below the ones we consider more relevant:
5G Smartphones and networks
Everyone is talking about 5G, it’s a fact. Last year during MWC, 5G was the main word and, we can’t wait to see when it is going to be in our lives.
I believe that by now everybody knows what is 5G. But if you have no idea, basically, 5G will replace the 4G Lite Connections which will result in faster downloads and uploads. With 5G it will take less time to connect to wireless networks, the quality of it will improve significantly and, the connection between smart objects will be easier and faster.
Despite all the expectations for this revolutionary technology, we still don’t know when it’s going to be available for all.
However, there are several mobile phones companies that are starting to launch their own 5G devices.
Huawei is expecting to launch in the early 2019, not only their first 5G phone, as well as, the first folding smartphone. Huawei CEO Richard Yu has said “We are working on foldable phones. Foldable 5G phones.”
Regarding Samsung, it was expected that the first 5G mobile phone was the next S10, although there is no confirmation of that so far. However, “rumors indicate the device may be the Galaxy S10 Plus, the anticipated larger counterpart of the S10”.
As you can see, 5G is everywhere but at the same time, it’s nowhere. More brands are trying to release their 5G phones this year, although nothing is confirmed yet. We will be expecting more news regarding the smartphones and the new “fifth generation”..
AI and IoT
In the particular area of smart homes, we can talk about two special trends of tech: Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things. Both terms are related to smart gadgets and intelligent homes.
Regarding Artificial Intelligence, we mention it in our article about 2018 Tech Trends. AI has been a trend in the last years and we believe it will continue to play a main role in our lives.
AI allows executing human tasks in an easiest and more accurate way. Many of us are already using Al in our everyday tasks such as smartphone personal assistant, home personal assistants, streaming devices, as well as improve energy efficiency at our homes, among others.
IoT is another trend that is here to stay. A lot of things are now built with wifi connectivity so they can be connected and change data over the internet. We are already using IoT at our homes for several purposes such as lock our doors remotely, turn on or off the oven, tracking our fitness on our watches, and so on.
According to a study made by Clutch, 67% of the inquiries own smart home appliance and 64% of them, use it at least once a day. Although, 53% said that they don’t have any intention of investing in more gadgets in the next twelves months because of the lack of compatibility of the different smart objects.
The combination of these two types of technologies will improve our day-to-day life drastically and make everything easier and faster. For 2019, we expect the launch of various gadgets to make our home smarter and healthier. Stay tuned, we will talk more about this in the future!
Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality
VR and AR aren’t the newest technology around, although it is expected that 2019 will be the year! These technologies will change our perspective about what is real and what is not! Not only for entertainment things, such as video games, sports, experiences, but also for more serious areas such as medical, military, retail, shopping, etc.
First of all, most of the startups and developers are now more familiar with this technology, which will be easier to produce consumer apps.
Added to this, the hardware is improving in the quality-price relationship. The equipment is getting not only cheaper but also with more durability which will allow to use it in more complicated and serious situations such as military missions.
One other thing that supports this idea is the improvements made in the AR Cloud, which is a term created by the founder of AWE, that consists in “a persistent 3D digital copy of the real world to enable sharing of AR experiences across multiple users and devices.”
According to him, “With the AR Cloud, the how-to-use of every object, the history of any place, the background of any person — will be found right there — on the thing itself.”
A few companies are in the run for this technology and some improvements have been made. We will be in front-row waiting for more news!
As you can see, these concepts aren’t new for you. We have been talking about them in our blog in the last year and many companies have already introduce these technologies in their working systems. Although, we believe that 2019 will be the year of these technologies and many progress will be made.
