Introducing Our Team – Meet Rui Cardoso

Get ready to meet Rui Cardoso. It’s almost impossible to keep a straight face around this Junior Software Developer who always has a joke up his sleeve. Rui shares a little bit about himself: hobbies, college years, favourite movies and how moody he gets when he loses a challenge!

Tell us a bit about yourself and why you became a developer.

I’m a very regular guy, but I like to think of myself as being someone sympathetic, smart and funny. I’m also very calm, except when I’m losing some type of challenge . Since I was 12 years, old I developed a passion for everything that has a chip as a component, mostly because I spent most of my time in front of a computer. Also, I loved math, and still love, so this was the perfect industry for me. 

What was the greatest challenge you faced during your college years?

This one is easy: the stress I felt every time we had an exam or a delivery of a project. It can be quite overwhelming, but I always managed to get things done! So, that’s a motive to be proud of!

When you’re not coding what do you do for fun?

I always loved any type of sports, so exercising is my main hobby. I also like to just lay in bed, watching time go by, relaxing and hanging out with my friends. My favourite thing to do with my friends is bowling!

Fun facts:

If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, which movie would you pick?
This one is hard, there are so many great movies, but I have to say Avengers: Endgame.

If you could professionally play any instrument, what would it be?
Piano. There’s not an explanation to it, it’s just what I would want to master.

If you could befriend any fictional character, who would be your new bestie?
Chandler Bing (From ‘Friends’). He’s such a funny character, and I really identify with his sarcasm.
