Introducing Our Team – Meet Nuno Matos
Nuno is always ready to drop a dad pun or an unexpected joke, making him the funnest QA in our team! Posted onby ExaudNuno Matos joined Exaud last year as a Quality Assurance Engineer. He’s been leading our QA team since then, always wearing a smile on his face and a dad joke up his sleeve! Get to know him a little bit better in this interview:
Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you decided to pursue a career in IT.
Nuno is Versatile, Demanding, Picky. I like to have fun working even if the situation is serious. In 2001, I started my journey with Computer Graphics as a 3D Modeller while investigating Virtual and Augmented environments. In 2008, I found my willingness to try out the Testing area and my career progressed naturally from Junior QA to Team Lead, followed by Test Manager and other Management Roles in the QA field as a Senior Specialist. My best skills are implementing test strategy, processes and procedures in product delivery with high quality standards.
What was the greatest challenge you faced professionally so far?
The greatest challenge is always conflict. They can be Cultural, Personal, Organisational or something else, but solving them is the biggest challenge. Conflict is a positive thing, tho – it adds new perspectives! In order to generate new ideas and innovation, you need human interaction, conflict, argument and debate!
When you’re not coding what do you do for fun?
I like to ride my motorbike and hit the gym!
Fun Facts
What was your dream career as a kid and does it still match what you’re currently doing?
When I was a kid, I dreamed of being a teacher. Somehow, I have played that role throughout my career, whether as a trainer, coach, a mentor or a lead.
Would you rather travel to the past or the future and why?
Neither past or future. I like to live in the present. To fail is to learn. We cannot change the past and he future is uncertain, so we can only make use of what we have learned so far.
Android or iOS and why?
I prefer Android because it’s easier to install any App and, no matter what, we always have Google on the backstage despite the operating system we choose.
Working at Exaud is more than just a job. Want to come along for the ride? We’re always looking for great people to join us. Check our current openings on our Careers Page.
