Posted onby ExaudWe’re happy to welcome a new team member to Exaud! José is our new iOS Developer and has joined our programming team to help us build and implement some cool mobile apps for our clients. We had him answer a few questions about himself – read on to find out what he had to say.
Tell me a bit about your journey to become a developer.
Like many of us, it all started through gaming. I was about 9 or 10 years old, when my father arrived home with a strange keyboard with a tape recorder attached to it. It was my first computer, a ZX Spectrum Sinclair 128K, and since then my passion for gaming and technology grew rapidly. Some years later, being a good student at Math, Physics and Science, having as favorite hobby to play games and knowing my way around computers and systems, I inevitably ended up by getting a university degree on Computer Science. Before that, during High School, I had been developing some small stuff, using Basic and Pascal, but it was only when I started developing on C++, at College, that I knew for sure that I would want to become a developer (there was nothing like old fashioned C++ and OpenGL to give wings to my imagination). Besides gaming and computer graphics, I’ve been curious about developing for mobile platforms and cloud systems, mainly since the “mobile boom”.
Tell me about the project you’ve worked on that you’re most proud of. What did you do that worked out particularly well?
I guess the 3 games I released on the Apple store. They’re kind of simple games but they gave me enormous joy to work and it was my first contact with the mobile developing world. It was all new to me, but through hard work and a lot of research, I delivered it and never got behind schedule. The funny thing is that they’re still up on the store and providing me a couple of cents per day.
Can you tell me a strong argument for why iOS development is winning?
Is it? For what I think, iOS systems are more secure. Plus, seeing that the hardware platforms are just as few as iPhone and iPad, it makes the developing work more straight forward, taking also advantage of the powerful hardware provided. However not everyone can buy a 800€ cell phone…
Fun Facts
If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life (and it wouldn’t
harm your health), what would it be?
That’s a hard one… I guess it would be a steak with white rice and
vegetable salad mix (nutritious and healthy). And, if possible, with tobacco
sauce to spice it up a little.
If you had 25 hours in the day while everyone else had 24 hours, how you
would use that extra time?
Probably to sleep.
One thing you really dislike?
Someone or something wasting my time.
